Si Luncai is a straight but noble -hearted shepherd. He had fallen in love with the village chief’s son, but his hopes were dashed after his application was rejected because he was just a goatherd. The village headman who knew Si Luncai's straightness told him to jump into the river with a pumpkin. he jumped, and the pumpkin was used as a buoy to save himself. When he arrived at the riverbank, he was visited by a kebayan grandmother who gave him a lot of property. 

Luncai disguised himself as a doctor and told the Village Head and his ministers to go to a hill to find the angel. After months of searching for the missing angel on the hill, she went on to marry the village Chief’s son. and upon learning that the doctor was Luncai, the Village Head finally apologized to Luncai for his past insults.
